Twenty seven players have commenced training in lagos ahead of the 2018 Senior African Nations Handball tourney in Gabon.
Addressing them shortly after the training on Monday, President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria Samuel Ocheho urged the players to remain focused on the challenges ahead of them.
Ocheho assured that the new board will do everything humanly possible to revive the glory of the game in the country.
“I am delighted with the spirit in the players in camp and hope they will reap the benefits of the preparation,”he said.
“The camping is the first stage of the country’s preparation and the interest shown by the players indicates their determination and commitment to give their best in making the country proud in Gabon next year.”
Ocheho pointed out that despite the financial constraints in the federation, he will not relent in his efforts towards ensuring that Nigeria do well in the forthcoming nations cup and other international competitions.
The players in camp were invited from their various state associations across the country.
