It would be recalled that the Spanish Football Association decided to relieve Julen Lopetegui of his duties as head coach on the eve of the World Cup following his announcement as Real Madrid coach while on the Spain job.
After a disastrous World Cup campaign in which they won only one match against Iran, Enrique will now take charge from Fernando Hierro who was hired on a temporary basis to guide La Roja through the World Cup finals.
The 48 year-old has reportedly signed a two year deal with the Spanish FA as Spain look to put a messy World Cup campaign behind them.
