Algeria based attacker Tosin Omoyele has warned CAF Confederation Cup hopefuls Bendel Insurance to be wary of ASO Chlef ahead of both teams’ meeting starting Saturday, www.aclsports.com reports.
Nigerian Cup champions Insurance will make a return to continental football for the first time in over a decade but they have their work cut out against a strong ASO Chlef side in their first qualifying round clash.
Omoyele who played twice against ASO Chlef last season in the colours of Algerian Ligue.1 side USM Khenchela spoke to ACLSports about some of their opponents’ attributes.
“ASO Chlef are a good team. They’re not a pushover at all. They’re very good tactically and have some technical players in their team as well,” Omoyele told www.aclsports.com on Thursday.
“I’m aware Insurance are a good team as well given how they played in the NPFL last season but I hope they have prepared well enough for the games. They must focus on doing the job,” added the striker.

Playing for a newly promoted side in a league as competitive as the Algerian Ligue 1 is not always an easy task but Omoyele who played mostly as a wide forward for USM Khenchela is grateful for how his team fared.
“We (USM Khenchela) were the underdogs coming into the season but in the end we had a good season. We achieved our primary aim of staying in the league for another season and we got some interesting results too,” added the former Enyimba striker.
Interestingly, Omoyele’s USM Khenchela finished on equal points with Bendel Insurance’s opponents on Saturday ASO Chlef who only placed fifth based on superior goals difference.
Bendel Insurance vs ASO Chlef will kick-off at 4pm Nigerian time in Benin City on Saturday while the return leg holds a week later at the Stade Mabrouki Salem (al-Jazā’ir) in Algiers.
