The Omoluabi Giants dropped to the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) last season, and having gone through the group stages and playoffs, they have now made an immediate return to the second division.

In the previous round, the Osun side walloped Adamimogo 4-0 to seal a mouthwatering clash with 3SC’s team B, who defeated SGFC Athletics 3-0, in the final playoff round.

Seye Ajayi’s side got the opening goal through striker Gabriel Godspower’s low drive from the outside of the box on the stroke of halftime.

Just after the hour mark, Sodiq Babatunde tapped home from close range to double their lead before substitute Solomon Ilesanmi added a goal of his own late on to complete the rout and secure Osun United’s return to the NNL.

In the other playoff game decided on Friday, Rahbam FC defeated Mairiga FC 3-1 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi to book their spot in next season’s NNL campaign.

In Yenagoa, Coal City FC staged a comeback in the second half to beat Leopard FC 3-2 , while the game between Jedo FC and Kano Stars was called off and will now be played on Saturday morning by 7am.
