Andreas Pereira has extended his stay at Old Trafford after signing a new contract with Manchester United, the club has announced.
Pereira’a new contract sees him stay at the club until June 2019, with an option of a further year.
“Manchester United is delighted to announce that Andreas Pereira has extended his contract ; which will keep him at the club until June 2019 with an option to extend for a further year,” the club said in a statement.
Pereira has been at United since joining the club as a16-year-old from Dutch side, PSV, and will spend next season on loan at La Liga outfit, Valencia.
“Andreas is already a very good footballer,” manager, Jose Mourinho said.
“He is a young player with great natural ability and a good attitude towards continuing his development. I have no doubt that he has the potential to be one of the future great players of this club.”
The 21-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Granada, says he’s delighted to have committed his future to the Red Devils.
“I am delighted that I have extended my contract with this great club,” Pereira said.
“The manager is building a great team here and I want to be part of that as soon as possible. I am going to continue my development at Valencia this season in the hope that I will get plenty of minutes on the pitch.
“I would like to thank the manager for his help and guidance and for the faith he has shown in me,” he added.
