Senegal international, Sadio Mane, continued his very good start to the season after helping Liverpool to a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Mane continues to haunt Palace after another match winning performance saw him score his third goal of the campaign.

The Senegalese netted in added time to give the Reds a hard-fought three points at Selhurst Park.

Two goals at the end of each half, first by James Milner, who scored from the spot, and then, Mane, hand Liverpool a second win of the season.

It was not a stroll in the park for the Reds, who were lucky not to have gone behind when an Andros Townsend effort from a distance rattled the Liverpool crossbar just before the half hour mark.

But just before the break, Liverpool were given an opportunity to break the deadlock when former Reds defender, Mamadou Sakho, was penalised for bringing Mohamed Salah down in the Palace box.

Milner converted from the spot to hand Jurgen Klopp’s side a 1-0 advantage at half time.

After the break, Liverpool had goalkeeper, Alisson Becker to thank, after the Brazilian produced two brilliant saves to deny Luka Milivojevic and Wilfried Zaha.

Palace were reduced to ten-men thereafter, as youngster, Aaron Wan-Bissaka was given his marching orders from denying Salah a clear scoring chance, as the Egyptian was put through on goal with just the goalkeeper at his mercy.

Liverpool didn’t take advantage of their numerical superiority until in added time, when Mane latched on to a lovely pass from Salah to all but end Palace’s hope of snatching a point with Liverpool’s second of the evening.

It was Mane’s sixth goal in eight games against the Eagles, and was enough to see Liverpool win their second game of the season.

The victory moves Liverpool up to second on the log on six points, while Palace are 10th on three.

Up next for the Reds is a home tie against Brighton & Hove Albion, while Palace are away at Watford next weekend.
