Kano Pillars beat De Defenders 28-27 to record her first win at the ongoing second phase of the Prudent Energy Handball League in Lagos.
The head coach of Kano Pillars, Solomon Yola attributed his shaky start to loss of concentration from the players.
He told www.aclsports.com that the team can still catch up with other top contenders in the handball league.
“It has not been easy for Kano Pillars. If you watched the matches we lost, it was with either one or two goal margin; I believe we will come up and the match against De Defenders is the starting point.
“The boys lost concentration and little mistakes cost us all the matches we lost. You cannot take mistakes away from the game of handball but we have adjusted”, he said.
Yola said his team will approach the remaining games with total commitment and avoid dropping points.
He further said, “We will take the remaining matches seriously, we have started and will avoid dropping points by his grace and this will take us to second or third position because it is an open league. We have seen big team lose today so by the time we pick other matches we will be up there”.
