Ilechukwu, who spoke to the club’s media after Monday’s training session, stated that the players have shown a great level of understanding and determination to internalize all they were being taught by the technical crew.
“With what I have seen in the players this past few days that we have been in close camp in Awka, I can say that we are ready for the start of the season. The level of motivation from management and government of Enugu state, is top notch and we have what it takes to deliver the goods when the season commences,” stated the young tactician.
Rangers have not played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium since 2022 and the former MFM gaffer has called on the state government to fasten the renovation works to ensure the Flying Antelopes return home quickly.
“Even when we are building into our players the culture of playing our matches with the attitude of no home or away, we still appeal to Enugu state government to fasten actions in completing renovation work at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium for the team to have a base where they can showcase their brand of football. The fans’ turnout during games goes a long way to helping us achieve together.”
Rangers, led by Ilechukwu will begin their 2023/24 campaign against Doma United at the Awka City Stadium on September 17. The Coal City giants have signed a number of new players ahead of the new campaign including Kalu Nweke from Abia Warriors and Ifeanyi Onyebuchi from Plateau United.
