The Super Eagles of Nigeria surrendered a two goal lead in an international friendly against Ukraine on Tuesday evening in an entertaining encounter at the Dnipro Arena.

Nigeria raced to a two goal lead in the first half and should have been out of sight but let the Ukrainians back into the game in the second period to level the score.

Two notable talking points from the game however are: the equalising goal which should have been disallowed for handball and the overall exciting and entertaining performance of the new look young and vibrant Super Eagles team.

Here’s how fans reacted to both talking points from the game.

FT: UKR 2-2 NGA. It's a moral victory for @NGSuperEagles. Ukraine's equalizer should have been chalked off for handball. However, good outing overall by our young lads. The future looks bright. @9jaSuperFans

Great test Game from the team. Kudos to the @thenff for such a Grade A friendly for the @NGSuperEagles . We can only look at the positives in such a game. Above all,I’m really proud of the Boys . 🇳🇬🇳🇬❤️❤️❤️

Nigeria have got an exciting young team coming through. First friendly since Mikel and Ighalo quit and the Super Eagles coped well. Will be interesting to see how Gernot Rohr gets this team to rule Africa in a couple of years.

Really exciting times ahead.

Are these match officials Ukrainians? That second goal should never have stood. That’s disgraceful.

FT: Ukraine 2-2 Nigeria. Best game for @NGSuperEagles in a long while. The kind of game you watch over and over and over again. Deserved a win. Lots to unpack here #UKRNGA #Team9jaStrong #SuperEagles #SuperEaglesInsider

FULL TIME:
Ukraine 2-2 Nigeria.

- Uzoho is back as number 1.
- Aribo with number 10 shirt secured.
- Chukwueze & Kalu must learn not to be selfish and do more of final passes.
- Osimhen is the new number 9.
- Esiti should not come back.

Good performance, good game.

Haven't had this much fun watching a @NGSuperEagles game since...the 4-2 against Argentina, probably?#UKRNGA

Uzoho! I swear @vinpee will be proud of that save by @Uzohof. And he’s done everything right so far.
Confidence is the greatest asset a GK can have outside if his talent and skills, and Uzoho has it now #Team9jaStrong #UKRNGA #SuperEagles

In my eyes, the biggest winner tonight was Francis Uzoho. He needed a performance like this, with Maduka Okoye sat on the bench.

The one-handed save in the first-half was almost Schmeichel-esque.#UKRNGA

Rohr seems well stocked on powerful central midfielders. Etebo, Ndidi & now Aribo. Also has a good crop of wide men (Simon, Chukwueze, Kalu, Onyekuru, etc). Good defensive options centrally & fullback. All he needs now is a dependable keeper & he'd have one heluva team. #UKRNGA
