Super Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong has sealed his move to Italian outfit, Udinese Calcio. Troost-Ekong joined the Serie A side from his Turkish club side, Bursaspor for an undisclosed fee.
“Ekong is a player with an important physical structure,” Technical director at the club, Daniele Prade said. “We speak of an aggressive central defender skilled in the air, both in defense and offensive.”
Ekong’s transfer continues the trend of Nigerians changing clubs this summer.
The 25-year-old was part of Nigeria’s team to the just concluded world cup in Russia, featuring in all group matches.
“[I am] very happy to have signed for Udinese,” Ekong said via his official social media account.

Troost-Ekong, who played 27 games last season for his Turkish side, netting two goals, has been capped 24 times by Nigeria, scoring one goal, against Congo DR.
He becomes the first Nigerian to put on the white and black stripes of Udinese since Christian Obodo who played at the Stadio Friuli between 2005 and 2012.
