New Shooting Stars goalkeeper, Darlintin Ovunda has told www.aclsports.com that the Oluyole Warriors is the right place for him following his transfer move.
Ovunda, who signed a two-year deal with the club, was presented to the public on Tuesday ahead of the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

“Shooting Stars is a very big club and it is the right place for me for now,” said the goalkeeper to www.aclsports.com.
“Ibadan is a big place and nice place and I have enjoyed my time here so far. It is an environment that is okay for me”.
The SKE Academy product, who joined Rivers United in 2019, made just four appearances in all competitions for Pride of Rivers last season and he said his move to Ibadan was to get more playing time.
“I left Rivers for more playing time, which I believe I will get in Ibadan.”
Ovunda struggled to nail down a starting berth during his time in Port Harcourt as he faced stiff competition from the likes of Sochima Victor, Seidu Mutawakilu and Abiodun Akande. However, he was able to play a part in their run to the title last year, featuring in a third of their league games.
Ovunda, who is aware of the challenges at Shooting Stars as they struggled to stay up in the top flight in the past two seasons, wants to add to the NPFL title he won at Rivers United in Ibadan.
“I’m here to win more trophies with Shooting Stars and hopefully help them get back to the CAF competitions by God’s Grace.”
Ovunda will battle fellow new recruit Chinedu Anozie for the number one shirt under coach Gbenga Ogunbote at Shooting Stars in the coming season.
With Ovunda, Shooting Stars will be hoping to finish in a better placement in next season’s NPFL after their disappointing position in Group A last term.
