Chuan Jansen Foo, 35, from Singapore has been assigned as centre referee for the upcoming international friendly between Brazil and Nigeria in Singapore.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Jansen Foo for the game billed for the 13th of this month.
Foo will be assisted by compatriots Abdul Hannan (assistant referee 1), Ong Chai Lee (assistant referee 2) and Gopala Letchman (fourth official) at the game billed for National Stadium, Kallang, Singapore.
Jansen Foo became an international referee in 2014 and although he has officiated in many Asian Football Confederation (AFC) competitions, Jansen Foo has never officiated a FIFA organised match.
Consequently, the Brazil vs Nigeria friendly game is the biggest that Jansen Foo and his team of match officials have ever officiated in their careers.
It is also the first clash between the A teams of both countries since five –time world champions Brazil beat the Super Eagles 3-0 in a friendly game at the National Stadium, Abuja in June 2003.
The Brazil vs Nigeria game will kick off at 8pm Singapore time on Sunday, October 13, 2019 (1pm Nigerian time).
