Super Falcons midfielder, Rita Chikwelu was on target twice for Madrid CFF once again as she led her team to crucial 3-1 away win over Espanyol.
Madrid who are in danger of relegation from the Primera Iberdrola, brought in the Super Falcons midfielder to help in the club in their relegation battle and the Nigerian has so far proved to be a worthy inclusion in the team.
Chikwelu opened the scoring against Espanyol in the 12th minute but the home team equalised early on in the second half. In the 80th minute, the former Super Falcons captain put Madrid ahead again to make it 2-1 before a late goal from Geyse Ferreira ensured they went away with all three points.
This makes it three goals in three games which included two starts for the Nigerian star.
Also in Spain, Asisat Oshoala and her Barcelona Femeni teammates travelled to their closest rivals and reigning Champions, Atletico Femenino and came away with a valuable point.
For Atletico, it was a must win match as they looked to cut the gap between themselves and Barcelona to have any hope of retaining the title they won last season; but it was not to be as they failed to overpower the Oshoala led team who are currently high flying in the league.
After 90 minutes of football, it ended goalless as Barcelona maintained their nine point lead over Atletico Femenino.
In Portugal, Super Falcons forward, Uchendu Chinaza was in action as SC Braga grabbed all three points against Sporting CP.

The former Rivers Angels player provided a crucial assist for one of the goals as Braga won by three goals to nil, thereby securing all the points away from home.
In France, Desire Oparanozie continues in her red hot form scoring another goal at the weekend against Marseille as Guingamp continue to move up the table.

Oparanozie helped her team regain the lead after they were initially pegged back despite opening the scoring. This makes it her fifth goal in six games for Guingamp as they ran out 3-1 winners.
Finally, Ini Umotong was on target as Brighton defeated Aston Villa 3-2 to progress to the next stage of the English Women’s FA Cup.
