Super Falcons of Nigeria continued preparation for the 2019 FIFAWWC with a comprehensive 6-1 victory over UMF Selfoss as both Courtney Dike and Ini Umotong put up impressive displays for the African Champions.
The Super Falcons filed out against top-flight Icelandic side UMF Selfoss on Friday evening in what was the first game of their pre-World Cup camping in Spain as the African Champions looked to fine-tune their tactics and formation ahead of the finals in June.

Despite starting the brighter of both sides the Super Falcons failed to get the much needed goal and it was only a matter of time before the opponents opened the scoring in the 31st minute.
Nnadozie then twarted a promising move preventing the opponents from doubling their lead. Nigeria however kept trying to find the equaliser with Chukwunonye sending one wide. Eventually, the pressure from the Falcons paid off three minutes before half time as Uchenna Kanu restored parity.

In the second half, the Super Falcons made their superiority shown following a host of changes which saw the duo of Courtney Dike and Ini Umotong come on.

Within 12 minutes of her introduction, Dike made her presence felt with a crucial goal to help the Super Falcons take the lead for the first time in the game. Brighton and Hove Ladies striker, Umotong then followed it up with a brace to increase Nigeria’s lead.

Dike and the Super Falcons however didn’t rest on their oars as the forward added two goals in 4 minutes to complete the rout.
