Super Falcons: Okeke stars in Madrid derby win

Super Falcons defender Chidinma Okeke helped Madrid CFF to a 2-1 win in her first Madrid derby at the weekend. The defender featured against her national team Osinachi Ohale of CD Tacon also in defence

Okeke who made the switch to Spain from FC Robo in Lagos, Nigeria after an impressive performance at the FIFAWWC has been an integral part of the team since moving to Spain.

Both Super Falcons defenders played the entire duration of the game but it was Okeke and Madrid CFF who got the win against Ohale’s CD Tacon away from home.

Also in Spain, Asisat Oshoala of Barcelona scored the second goal against Sevilla in a 2-0 win away from home to maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Oshoala came into the game as an 80th minute substitute. 7 minutes later she poked the ball from the Sevilla goalkeeper and went on to score to secure all three points for Barcelona Femeni.

Ngozi Sonia Okobi and Halimatu Ayinde were both starters for Eskilstuna United in Sweden against Orebro. Eskilstuna United secured a vital 2-2 draw away from home with the Super Falcons duo playing a crucial part in the game.
