Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala opened her goal scoring account for FC Barcelona on Sunday afternoon in a 4-0 win away over Rayo Vallecano.
With the Chinese league on break, the three time African Women Player of the Year joined Barcelona on loan from China to stay active ahead of the 2019 FIFA Women’s Word Cup in France this June and it’s taken the 2018 AWCON winner no time to get the goals flowing.
Having joined the Spanish outfit just last week, Oshoala began Sunday’s game away at Rayo Vallecano on the bench but took only a few seconds to register her name on the score sheet.

Reacting to her goal on Instagram, the Super Falcons striker said: “First game always a special one. First match, first touch, first goal.”
In the same vein, Super Falcons captain Rita Chikwelu who recently signed a contract extension with Swedish side Kristianstads was on target for her club as she opened her account for the new season in the Swedish Women’s Cup.
Chikwelu scored the second goal in a 7-1 thrashing of Kalmar as her team looks to improve on last season’s third place finsh in the Swedish Women’s Cup.
