Super Falcons midfielder Rita Chikwelu was on target for Madrid CFF on her full debut at the weekend as the club battles for survival in the Primera Iberdrola.
The former Super Falcons captain who moved to Madrid CFF last week was handed her first start for the club and she didn’t disappoint, leading the team to a 4-1 victory over Athletic Club.
From kick off, Madrid CFF wasted no time in stamping their authority on the game with two quick fire goals. First it was Antonia in the fifth minute before the Nigerian made it 2-0 three minutes later after connecting with a corner kick with a looping header to keep Madrid in the driving seat as the battle for survival continues.

Although Chikwelu was substituted after 75 mins, her impact was enough to see Madrid earn a 4-1 win over their opponents and keep survival hopes alive.
In France, Super Falcons striker, Desire Oparanozie made it four goals in five games as En Avant Guingamp defeated FC Fleury by two unreplied goals.
Oparanozie scored the second in the second 72nd minute to secure three vital away points for her side in the league.
In Spain, reigning African Women’s Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala helped her side to a 3-1 win over Rayo Vallecano.
Although the Super Falcons striker was not on target, her team mate Patri Guijarro scored from her strike which was punched into her path the Rayo Vallecano goal keeper to make it 2-0 to the Spanish giants.
With Atletico Madrid failing to secure all three points away at Sevilla, Barcelona Femeni have now opened a healthy nine point gap at the top of Primers Iberdrola table.
Still in Spain, Osinachi Ohale and CD Tacon recovered from the 6-0 mauling by Barcelona last week with a vital 3-1 win away from home.
The Super Falcons defender was in action for her team playing the entire duration of the game.
