Arsenal star, Alex Iwobi, is not the most popular Super Eagles player amongst Nigerians following his performance in the Total AFCON 2019 match against Guinea on Wednesday.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles became the first to book a place in the round of 16 in Egypt after a superb Kenneth Omeruo header earned them a narrow 1-0 win over Guinea.
Iwobi featured for 78 minutes but hardly covered himself in glory before making way for Samuel Chukwueze.
His display against the Guineans prompted Nigerians to turn to their various social media accounts to react.
Here are some of the reactions;

After the opener against Burundi, calls were made by Nigerians for Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr to drop captain, John Mikel Obi, from the number ten role and play Iwobi instead.
Iwobi was handed that role against Guinea but failed to take advantage of the chance to make the position his, according to this Nigerian.

Was Iwobi really that bad? This Nigerian believes so and goes ahead to call the 22-year-old ‘Aba made’.

Finally, it was not all knocks for the former Super Eagles hero as this particular fan says while Iwobi has yet to hit the heights he expects, he can still be a game changer for the Super Eagles.
