Nigeria’s Super Falconets got their World Cup campaign back on track with a 1-0 win over debutants, Haiti courtesy of a Rasheedat Ajibade penalty.
The Super Falconets began the game with the needed urgency putting the Haiti defence under immense pressure early on but the debutants did well to weather the storm.
From them on, it was Haiti doing all the playing and creating all the chances but they however refused to make it count, and were soon punished by a clumsy defensive error which led to the penalty converted by Rasheedat Ajibade.

The Haitians however almost equalised three minutes later after the Super Falconets goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie was caught off her line following a goal scramble in the box. The ball then fell to an Haiti player whose effort struck the crossbar. Not longer after, Ajibade was presented with a golden opportunity for a second goal after the Haiti goalkeeper fumbled an area ball but the FC Robo attacker flashed her effort wide.

As time went on, Haiti kept pressing for the equalizer which never came thanks to the brilliant goalkeeping by eventual player of the match, Chiamaka Nnadozie who controlled her defence excellently and made crucial saves when called upon just.
This win leaves the Falconets level on point with China following a 2-0 defeat in the hands of the Germans. Nigeria play China next week Monday in a winner takes all game as the race for second place heats up.
