Nigeria Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has been named the German Bundesliga Player of the Month for August, www.aclsports.com reports.

The forward has been in great form this season with Bayer Leverkusen, as he has scored five goals and made two assists in four games.
Boniface joined the German club from Union SG in a deal reportedly worth €20.5M last summer, and after being named the rookie player of the month, he has claimed the biggest prize of August.
Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso had this to say about Victor Boniface ahead of this weekend’s Bundesliga clash with Bayern: “He’s a great player, a special player. He’s a striker but he doesn’t just play for himself, he’s generous. We are really happy to have him here”
Apart from the fantastic first month in German football, the Real Sapphire product marked his first call-up to the Super Eagles with a brace.
The 22-year-old eventually made his debut for the Super Eagles in the 6-0 bashing of Sao Tome and Principe in Uyo on Sunday. He made the assist for Nigeria’s last goal scored by Samuel Chukwueze.
Boniface will return to German Bundesliga action for Bayer Leverkusen when they travel to face Bayern Munich in the first match of the weekend on Friday night.
