Nigeria Customs Service team beat Saint Denis Olympique 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 29-27) to record their first win at the ongoing 37th CAVB Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship in Cairo, Egypt on Saturday.
Led by their seasoned coach, Priscilla Agera, the Nigeria Customs Service team was a formidable force, their determination shining brightly in their eyes as they faced their opponents with unwavering resolve.
From the very first serve, the NCS team displayed an unparalleled synergy, as they executed each play with precision and finesse.
The first set witnessed a display of sheer dominance from the NCS squad, as they clinched victory with a score of 25-21, sending ripples of excitement to the spectators.
The NCS team intensified their efforts in the second set, their determination unwavering as they continued to shake off their opponents at every turn. With impeccable serves and impeccable defence, they claimed the set with a commanding scoreline of 25-14, inching closer to glory with each passing moment.
In the third set, the true test of their mettle emerged. Saint Denis Olympique rallied fiercely, their resolve unyielding as they fought tooth and nail to turn the tide in their favour. But the NCS team refused to be swayed, matching their adversaries blow for blow in a breathtaking display of skill and determination.
As the tension reached its zenith, it was the NCS team who emerged triumphant, edging out their opponents with a nail-biting scoreline of 29-27, to clinch victory and secure their place in the annals of volleyball history.
Coach Priscilla Agera hailed every player for their unwavering commitment and tenacity, recognizing the challenges they had overcome to achieve victory on the court.

Agera told www.aclsports.com that the Comptroller General of Customs, Adeniyi Adewale (MFR) steadfast commitment to ensuring the team’s participation in the championship had been instrumental in their success, providing them with the resources and support they needed to compete at the highest level.
She said, “I really appreciate CGC for taking a bold step to allow the team to fly the flag of the nation in this championship.
“I also want to give kudos to the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod for his approval in ensuring the team returns, not forgetting the President of Nigeria Olympic Committee, Engineer Habu Gumel for his relentless support for volleyball”.
Nigeria Customs Service will face Mayo Kane Evolution on Sunday in their third match after losing to Kenya Pipeline in their first game on Friday.
