Head Coach Bankole Olowookere has named his final squad for the WAFU B U17 Girls’ Cup starting in Ghana on Thursday, www.aclsports.com reports.

FIFA World Cup scorers Shakirat Moshood and Harmony Chidi are among a list of 20 players of the Nigeria U17 girls, Flamingos, selected by the head coach to compete with other nations in Ghana.

Remo Stars Ladies duo – Taiwo Adegoke and Ayomide Ibrahim –  and midfielder Farida Abdulwahab (Nasarawa Amazons) are some of the players selected in the final squad by Olowookere. There is also goalkeeper Christiana Uzoma (Edo Queens) and forwards Peace Effiong (Rivers Angels) and Mary Lucky Nkpa (Abia Angels) on the roster.

It will be recalled that the Nigerian U17 girls reached the quarter-finals of the recent FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup finals in the Dominican Republic before they were defeated by the United States of America in the following round.

Just before the final list was released on Tuesday, the team played a selected side at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne and won 3-1 in their final test game.
