Abuja All Stars and Showtime Hoopers of Ibadan have emerged champions of the National Division 1 and 2 respectively held at the Indoor Sports Hall of  the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin.

The Abuja based side won four games out of 5 with their only loss to Ebun Comets in their opening game while Showtime Hoopers won all four games thus gaining promotion to Division 1.

In Division 1, six teams participated in the five-day tournament: Abuja All Stars, Ahip Giants, Osun Lions, Anambra Flames, Ebun Comets and Gombe Jewels Bulls while Show time Hoopers, Stan Leopards, Gilali Balls, Ogun Pacers and Titans Star Academy competed in Division 2.

Abuja All Stars and Ahip Giants of Kano have reportedly gained promotion to the Savannah Conference while Ebun Comets of Lagos and Anambra Flames have also been rumoured to have gained promotion to the Atlantic Conference of the 2018 Kwese Premier Basketball league.

Both Comets and Flames won three out of five of their games losing two.

Technical director of the league Ajibarede Bello said, it was a wonderful championship which had lots of talented players and in the end we got winners of the two divisions. The relegated and promoted teams will be communicated to the media and public in a day or two by the NBBF.” He revealed to ACLSports

At the end of last season, Kada Stars from the Savannah and NAF Rockets from the Atlantic Conference were the two teams relegated from the elite division. If the reports of two promoted teams to both conferences are anything to go by, the NBBF will determine if Delta Force and Bauchi Nets will join the other two relegated teams.
