Two times CAF Champions League winners Enyimba FC on Thursday afternoon touched down in the Burkina Faso capital Ouagadougou ahead of Saturday’s game against Rahimo FC.

Current Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions Enyimba FC are scheduled to face the Burkina Faso champions in their preliminary round encounter for the 2019/20 Total CAF Champions League with the first leg stated for this weekend.

The People’s Elephant left Lagos for Cotonou, Republic of Benin on Thursday morning from where they boarded an Air Burkina flight for just over an hour, landing at about 2:55pm local time.

The Enyimba FC team was led by team captain Andrew Abalogu and defender Ifeanyi Anaemena. Other prominent senior team players in the squad were goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai, centre back Nelson Ogbonnaya and winger Stanley Dimgba.

Few of the newly recruited players also made the trip. They include former Akwa United star Cyril Olisema, former Abia Warriors duo Abiodun Adebayo and Samson Obi as well as forwards Martins Usule and Victor Mbaoma.

Enyimba will have their official training session on Friday evening at the August 4 Stadium in Ouagadougou, venue of Saturday’s game.
