Handball: Borno Spiders will remain in the Premier League

The coach of Borno Spiders, Ameh Owoicho said the club will remain in the top flight league after the end of the second phase in Lagos.

Owoicho told www.aclsports.com that all hands are on deck to finish among the top six teams in the 2019 season.

He said the Maiduguri based team is making up for positions were players are lagging behind.

He said, “I am optimistic that Borno spiders Handball club will remain in the top flight and survive the premier league. As I speak with you, all hands are on deck for the coaching crew to the management in ensuring that the team among the top six teams this 2019 season.

“During the first phase in Abuja, the coaching crew noticed some lapses and the team is making up for positions were the players lagging behind especially the left back, pivot and centre back”.

He further said, “The team have being in camp for over a month and our preparations emphasis is technical play and the techniques of the game.

The handball tactician said he is not under pressure from any quarters to deliver.

He told www.aclsports that, “I am not under any pressure but rather professional challenge to prove my worth as a technical resources person and show case talent from the heart cradle of Nigeria Saharan fringes.

Owoicho said, “I remembered I told www.aclsports.com at the first phase in Abuja, last May that some big teams may be weary of the Spiders and it happened. No team is too big when the techniques of the game vary. We the Spiders are capable of thrashing any big team that lacks competence in these crucial encounters because our rating is paramount”.

The second phase of the Prudent Energy Handball League is scheduled for 5th to 17th October, 2019 at Rowe Park Sports Center, Yaba, Lagos.
