Head coach of SWAN Selected, a football team of sports journalists, Yemi Olanrewaju aka Yema has been appointed as assistant coach of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side MFM FC, reports www.aclsports.com

Yema, a former Kwara United and Ocean Boys star joined the Lagos based club as first assistant to newly appointed head coach Tony Bolus.

“I’m happy to be part of the new set up at MFM,” Yema told www.aclsports.com on Wednesday.

“It is a great thing to team up with a brilliant coach with great footballing ideas like Coach Bolus. It is a big challenge for us though as the team lost some of their key players.”

Before his fresh appointment, Yema had a brief stint with Nationwide League One (NLO) side Magate FC and has had a 100% record with SWAN Selected whenever he is in the dugout for their matches.

Yema whose playing philosophy is “good, sleek passing and easy-on-the-eye type of football” has since resumed with the Church club at the start of this week.

Yema and his head coach Bolus are expected to start a new era at MFM FC following the departure of Fidelis Ilechukwu to Heartland late last month.

The 2019/20 NPFL season is tentatively scheduled to commence on the weekend of September 22, 2019.
